I really want to be able to edit out some of the more graphic or vulgar parts of some media so it is better for my family to watch. I want to be able to select a version of the movie and have it labeled Censored or Uncensored. This could even be useful for director’s cuts or extended editions. For example, I know there are many people who like the LotR extended movies, but some like the original theatrical version. The DVD for A Muppet Christmas Carol has both a widescreen and a full screen version, but the widescreen cuts out a song from the movie. There are many other examples I could list where this is relevant, but if you could just add a way to label the multiple versions of our media that would be awesome.
Agreed. Another use case is for my 3D versions of movies. Instead of having a totally separate library for them I like to have them combined within Plex as versions. When I go to play one I choose the version. The current implementation of just listing the quality name is very unintuitive. The ability to be able to rename these or at the very least for Plex to display the file name would be a lot more useful.
