If anyone knows how I can achieve this with the current app then please do let me know, it will be greatly appreciated.
I use the iOS app on iPad.
If I decide I want to browse a tv show and tap through a few seasons and a few episodes,. Then I want to return to either the home screen or the library view.
The only way to do this is to retrace my steps tapping in the top left. This will retrace my entire path back step by step with no way I can find to jump straight to the home or library view (other than closing and reloading the app).
I can return to the series overview or the season view but to get back to the home or library this just adds extra steps on my walk back.
If maybe an extra button in the top right could be added maybe with the drop down option to return to either that contents library or the home screen that would be useful.
If I have overlooked some easier way of doing this please let me know.
Swipe from left to right to bring up the navigation menu… there you can click home or the library you want to return to
You can use the season reference or show title next to the poster/thumb to jump to that level (without using the back button)

Swiping from left to right just seems to do the same thing as tapping the top left. It moves back down the path I created by my browsing but doesn’t seem to bring up any navigation menu.
Once I am back on the home screen swiping left to right does then bring up the sidebar with my username at the top,home and all my libraries listed, but this doesn’t happen when I am in a tv series or a single episode.
I don’t know if it is the new iOS app that has changed things as I seem to remember being able to swipe right to left to go from one episode to the next but this doesn’t work any more.
If there is a setting I have to change to make swiping left to right always bring up the menu then please let me know.

When testing I must have gotten back to the library level whenever I tried to bring up the navigation menu. I believe this works on Apple TV, but that’s not what your question is about…
I’ve been playing a bit more… doing the swipe as a 2-finger gesture should do the job.
Someone should write a book with all those swipes and gestures… maybe there’s more 
Unless I’m doing it wrong two fingers either does nothing or just does the same as one finger, moving back up the path.
I had a look around for any info on gestures but apart from a thread from 2018 suggesting it as a feature I couldn’t find anything else that lists swipe controls.

Please add this functionality, I’m going insane here trying to go back to another library or playlist after a few searches in music! 2-finger swipe does nothing for me as well.
