Hey, I love Plexamp but the one thing that is preventing me using it instead of the main Plex app on my android phone is the lack of album ratings. Maybe I’m an oddity but I still listen to my music collection primarily as albums and rely on the rating as an indication of quality and to easily identify if I’ve listened to the album before.
Can you please introduce the ability to view and edit album ratings (to half stars) for Plexamp?
Where would you expect to see the album ratings? Just on album pages?
Yep the album page is where I would expect to find it. Don’t think it needs to be elsewhere but others may have a different view.
Album ratings would be quite nice. I don’t currently use them myself, but once I figure out a use for them I definitely will.
There’s definitely room near the album artwork to include an album rating section, in my opinion (maybe either to the left of the shuffle button or right below the artwork?):
Additionally, as a separate but related thought, it would be really nice if on the actual server side the album rating could be calculated based on the ratings of the individual album tracks, but I don’t think with the way Plex currently does things this would be without issue. For instance, a song that is on multiple different releases (for example: a song on a studio album and also a live album) is viewed as the same track when it comes to ratings, I believe.
Just to add my thoughts to this. I would personally would like the album rating to be a automatically calculated average of the rated tracks in the album. I guess to satisfy the requested feature you could then override that rating with a manual one?
