Some have the stones to pollute the watching experience with a unique tracking shortened URL begging for feedback that are full-screen ads that stick around for minutes, ruining a show and defeating the whole purpose of Plex.
If a player detects a URL or a common blob of text at the beginning or end of a sub, it should silently remove them.
I wrote some code to do this for myself (assume sidecar SRT files) and here’s the text I remove – just in case you want to do this before Plex does:
