So here’s a suggestion for a nice feature…hope it’s not been done before.
I drive to work in the morning and listen to an album, but only get half way through it.
I drive home and listen to something heavier, but again only get half way through it.
It would be sweet if I could pick up yesterdays morning album where I left off the next day, or anytime later.
How’s about a secondary play (resume) button which only shows on an album that has has a partial play.
I’d like this. Especially if the resumes were carried over to PLEX proper like the video content is. Instead of “Resume Video” it could show a “resume Album”. So you can have your plexamp on your phone while you jog, then resume it on you PS4 using the plex app there. Probably not likely since it seems to pay attention to tracks as opposed to albums so shuffle play of tracks could screw it up and que up dozens of albums, but if there is a way around it I’d love to see it.
It would also be nice to have an icon showing if something had been played like the video content. I have hundreds of old time radio shows on my plex server, it would be nice to see what I’ve already listened to.
I’ve never even thought of this, but I think it is a very good idea. Too many times I run into the same thing. I only manage to listen to half the album and then later I switch to something else and I just forget where I was in the other album, or never really knew to begin with. I’ve been needing a resume button many times.
Some arguments for such an idea:
It would tie in well with the new AutoPlay feature which relies on you actually finishing the album.
It would make PlexAmp more “carefree” which I feel is one of it’s goals.
It would tie in well with the (default off) feature “store track progress”. Maybe a new option “store album progress”?
And just some food for thought: If such a feature would be implemented, I wonder if it would be useful to have a “On Deck” or a “Continue Listening” section in Plex for partly listened albums? Like movies and shows already have.
