Hi! I noticed Spotify has changed how they integrate controlling the volume on iOS when Spotify Connect-casting to a supported device. Where initially they would change the volume when using the volume up/down buttons, even if not in the app. This is pretty much the same way as Plexamp does it. This however leads to a frustrating experience where normal on-device volume gets mixed with controlling the volume of the Plexamp player. Resulting in screamingly loud Instagram reels or YouTube when also listening to music in the background. Then when turning down the volume you’re also mistakingly turning down the volume for the Plexamp player etc, etc, rinse/repeat.
In a recent update Spotify seems to have realized this and you cannot control the volume with the volume buttons anymore. Only when you’re in the app itself and even then instead of changing the volume it shows a slider on the bottom of the screen which you can use to control the volume.
To me this is a much, much better way to handle this as it would totally eliminate the odd volume dance I need to do at the moment when using Plexamp and casting to a Plexamp player. Entirely separating volume for music and volume on-device in a clear fashion.
Would it be an idea to integrate this into Plexamp on iOS?
