[Feature Request] server-to-server Move/Copy library content

I’ve read through the plex guide titled
Move and Install to Another System
This guide poses lots of limitations and essentially describes a more manual process of moving content by hacking and moving files

I imagine when most Plex libraries get really large, folks are faced with spreading content among multiple libraries or moving library content to another local server. I’m not always going to use the same platform for each local plex server. especially as NAS support improves and new devices become better plex servers.

As I build each library, I tweak metadata. Simply copying files around doesn’t automatically pass my carefully enhanced metadata from one library location to another.

What’s needed is a tool, operating from within each plex server, that allows me to MOVE or COPY selected content and the metadata to another server/library without me needing to become an OSX/Unix/Windows hacker!

Totally agree. I can’t believe there is no automated process to migrate content from one server to another! My hardware and I have spent a LONG TIME getting my library the way I want it, with the correct metadata and the “optimized versions” for the devices that are important to me. But I now realize that my QNAP NAS is a serious bottleneck and I want to migrate my Plex libraries to a more powerful system. So you’re telling me there is no easy way to do that?

I have multiple Libraries on two different PMS (one is Windows, one is QNAP), that I want to move to a new - third - QNAP PMS that I will setup next week (while other libraries remain in the original location of their servers).

Since I invested a lot of time to individualize metadata, I need a MOVE / SYNC or COPY tool for Plex libraries.

Please create one, thank you.
