Just found out on Twitter that this is not a current feature of the DVR. This is the one thing that has been keeping me from giving my money to Plex to replace our existing DVR setup. We watch a lot of football and the ability to set favorite teams and have it record any live game featuring that team is a must for us. So if this is not something planned already, I’d like to formally request it as a feature. Once it’s been implemented, I’d be happy to part with the cash.
That being said, is there anyone around here who records a lot of sports and figured out an easy way to make sure all your games get recorded?
I’m not sure when this was rolled out, as I’ve been looking for this feature too, but in case you haven’t found it, it’s a bit buried.
Find a specific event with the team you want to record all games for & hit the record button. Click the RECORD drop-down and change it from “This Event” to “All (your team) Events”. It should give you an option for both teams in the selected event.
From what I can tell, not all sports are supported (for example some collegiate sports didn’t have the option). But a lot are, and I was super happy to stumble across this option today. I also don’t think there’s another way to get to this option; you have to find a single event that features your team.

When i select a game i can only record “this event” or “ALL NFL Events”. Same goes for MLS. I just want my local teams… Does anybody have advice?
Yup, just noticed the same thing (after my PMS being down for 3+ weeks). Running the latest version, but I can’t select my team. I thought it might be an NFL thing maybe since regular season hasn’t started yet, but same thing with MLB.
I’m assuming this has something to do with Plex’s new guide provider. I’ve also noticed that I can’t search the guide for airing types anymore. I would occasionally search the guide for “animated” to see if there was a kids movie on that I wanted to save, but it only shows results for title name and not category now.
This is fixed! Do a guide refresh to load sports tags and you should then be able to select by team.
