Im wonderring that all my votes are gone or do I just dont see the right place. Sp please do a vote again if you like to have that feature in Plex. I m waiting now sonce 2015 to be able to use plex as a photo lib.

Actually this was one of the reasons I bought my plex pass as I wanted to create my photo library like this and create a managed user that will only show picures with a specific label on the picture frame.
was quite shocked and frustrated discovering that this is not possible.
Further more, I am able to filter to multiple tags on the web browser, letâs say display me all the pictures with the tags âanimalsâ AND âslideshowâ. Funny enough, this is not possible on the Android app, there the multi tag logic only works in a OR manner and it is not possible to change that to AND to filter on multiple tags. So basically, if I want to quickly filter my photolibrary when I am visiting friends to show some specific pictures, it is not possible trough the android app

oh ok I didnt know that issue, but sounds funny⊠It is a long time ago that I give the tag option a try but thats at the end not enough for me and wouldt end up unmanageable.
Sadly its now nearly 6 Years ago, and nothing moves⊠There are also other request which poped up in the last years with the same wish so we not the only people who love to have that feature.
I was also on of the poor guys who use the plex photo upload option for many years, and I was really happy with that. I think plex goes more and more in the movie/streaming only direction thatâs sad cause I think specially for a local hosted media organisation software other mediatypes are same or more important.

Yes I agree. Despite what is there works perfectly, I also think most of the media library applications like Plex or JellyFin are going in the Movie Library and Streaming direction and are not putting any additional efforts into Photo library. This is sad but a fact. Seems we will be forced to have an additional, dedicated product for our photo libraries in a long term view such as Piwigo or Photoprism.
Sneaky one Plex, I joined plex pass for this feature alone. Now I see it is only for Movies, TV shows and Music. Not photos
I just signed up with PlexPass and I really like it so much that I am leaving Kodi.
I am using it for my media as well as for sharing Photos with family. Unfortunately, the Photo part did not meet my expectation. Prior to signing up, I read in the forums that there is a labeling feature for Photos, similar to Movies/TV Shows/Music. However, I am unable to find the labeling feature in Photos and has been removed all together.
Since the Labeling feature is already there for other media sections, I would think it might be easy for the Plex Team to implement for Photos as well.
I would like to request Plex members to bring the Labeling feature back to help manage the sharing of Photos with users.

Iâm putting in a strong request for this as well. I have a Photos library into which all my photos are placed, and I also have separate libraries for each side of the extended family where I have to manually choose which folders to include. It clutters my own library UI and makes sharing inconvenient. If I could add labels to albums I want to share that so that I can have just one shared library in which the extended family only sees albums labeled for them, that would make me extremely happy!!

A little stunned this isnât already there, when features like âautomatic taggingâ are being added. I wonât use that at all, but I went to try and share an album of photos using same âfilter by labelâ feature available for everything else and was really saddened that itâs not there.
I am currently using .plexignore method but it requires very âmanual laborâ to get stuff ignored and it does not have the ability to customise the permissions based on the user logged in. Glad there are others who also require some sort of permission mechanism and I think Plex Team should pay attention to this feature next. They should implement something similar to Piwigo (See âPrivacy on your Photosâ http://piwigo.org/basics/features).
+1 Iâd like to be able to share easily my wedding pictures and video to my family without sharing ALL my picture !
Why on earth is âSharingâ not configurable for Photos as a library type!? It is totally counter-intuitive, especially when everyoneâs instinct is to be able to share an individual album or folder of photos. Please add this!!!

The Devs donât seem to care about Photos. No point in buying this program if you want to use it for Photos.
