I would love to see the number of connections when hovering over the system tray icon, instead of having to open a browser window to show the server. Also, when you do double-click on the Plex Media Server system tray icon, it should take you to the Server’s dashboard, not the Player’s dashboard.
Just some super minor improvements that seem pretty simple to implement.
Honestly having more info in a small status panel kind of thing on the tray icon would be rather great for a quick-glance info sheet.
As for Linux based, it could be made into a simple command like plex-status.
I agree. I was going to suggest this, but without the hover. I mocked up what it could look like to help you know at any point how many people are streaming from your server.
Currently I have to double click the icon, wait for the browser to respond and see the number up in the dashboard section just to exit out of the browser seconds later.
Are people even voting?! Why doesn’t this idea have more votes already!?
As we have a HTPC hosting both PMS and Plex HTPC, having a Windows notification isn’t useful but PlexDash does the job without impacting use of the HTPC.
