Feature request: Small linux audio only player

Guys,

 

I love using the Plex environment for my shows & movies, across multiple devices.

 

However, I'm quite the audio nut as well, and for that I love to switch off all my video equipment and just listen in stereo.

 

For that I'm still based on logitech mediaserver, with (real) squeezebox players & squeezelite clients running on raspberry pi for example.

 

It would be great if there would be an audio only streamer, under control from android remote (android plex client can already do it) so we can listen to music without having to turn on TV's/Screens.

 

A true mediacenter should have this functionality I suppose :)

I don think anyone has done anything like thy for PLEX, however he client is open, as is the API so it’s not beyond he bounds of possibility.

Yes indeed this would be a great improvement.

would very much appreciate something like that. Currently I’m using openPHT running on a headless server together with the android app for controlling playback
