Hey, people. For those of you who don’t know… you have to click on “Like” on Shooter71’s initial post for the PLEX crew to consider it a vote. That is how they measure the importance of a feature request.
Have my “like” and bump. Just got Live TV working, and this option is a necessity for all apps, IMO.
Agree. A guide needs to happen ASAP.

I was flabbergasted that this was not already available. After I bought my Plex Pass I sat clicking through menus trying to find the elusive standard EPG. No luck obviously! I’ve got used to the current set up to some extent and I can see some of the positive sides of it, but an option for a standard EPG is essential. If it is not in place by the time my Plex Pass comes up for renewal I’m not so sure if I will.
I’ve just seen the recent post by kinoCharlino on the live TV forum, which says that this is the number one priority for live TV and is planned for Q1 2018. Good news.

Absolutely agree. I can tell some ADD millenial wrote the existing guide. Looks pretty, but not functional. You should have consulted with a group of people on what they wanted for a guide. If you don’t get a traditional guide soon, I’ll be going to a tablo. There is a reason why it’s called “channel surfing” we don’t know exactly what we may want to watch. Furthermore, I live in a remote area and I am using the highest gain antenna to get any signal. I know what channels are coming in the best vs. the ones that don’t. That factors into my decision as I’m “channel surfing”. The Amazon Fire Plex APP leaves out the channel number on the “all Channels” unlike the Roku Plex APP that doesn’t. That’s at least bearable. But I would rather have a traditional guide. Period. I am the VP of a technology company and used to be a programmer myself. This type of guide is what you get when you leave the “developers” dictate the look and feel instead of getting your information from your user demographic. Get it fixed and in a hurry or start losing your base.
A better program guide is 1000x needed. It would also be nice if you could choose to have it automatically tune to the HD version of the channel like most set top boxes do.
+1 and it has to be either forked or alas PseudoTVLive, that you can automatically create virtual channels from playlists.

looking for several on history channel doesn’t show brand new shows to setup in DVR but they exist on channel as well as other tv-guide’s just not in plex or grace notes implementation for whatever reason.
+1 for this feature. Don’t get rid of the current guide, though. Make it optional. Or at least give the ability to show what’s coming on in the next few days. As it is right now all I can see is what’s coming on today unless I’m missing something.
Absolutely agree!. Need a normal guide, casue momently its useless completely. Plex is a really nice program. For them who uses this as primary DVR, normal guide is neded!!!
I have used PLEX now for a year and I would not recommend it to anyone if they plan to watch or record LIVE TV because of the TV guide… I have given up using the guide completely… And I am now recommending your competition to all because of your guide…

I HATE A GUIDE THAT IS VIEW THE SHOW OR THE NEWS OR THE MOVIES, OR ETC… I WANT AND DEMAND A TIME LINE GRID AS DEFAULT… IF YOU WANT TO ADD YOUR EXISTING DISPLAYS AS EXTRA THEN FINE… BUT, BY NO MEANS SHOULD YOUR CURRENT DISPLAY METHOD BE YOUR DEFAULT METHOD… IT’S A VERY POOR SUBSTITUTE TO A TIME LINE GRID TV GUIDE…

It would be easier to see what’s coming up at what time and what channel.
My wife probably would even use Plex if it had this feature.
It’s the most important lacking function right now.

Coming from Kodi to Plex because of its new ability to record TV for me. I was deeply saddened to see no timeline feature to tag programs for recording. This is quite a deal breaker for me and really need to be added ASAP.
