Please like this post to support adding listenbrainz scrobbling to plex.
For those unaware, the musicbrainz folks have added an alternative/replacement for last.fm scrobbling. You can even import your existing last.fm play history.
If you never heard of last.fm, go check it out @ http://last.fm unfortunately last.fm has declined in most users eyes since the take over by cbs.
You can help renew the last.fm legacy by supporting listenbrainz.
Since you’ve partnered with MusicBrainz can you please now support scrobbling to ListenBrainz. It should be fairly easy for you to setup since you already support Last.fm scrobbling and as you mention in the article MusicBrainz is now the most important part of the music mix
I really still don’t understand why… considering all the above… why Plex still hasn’t taken the initiative to add listenbrainz support. EMBY has now had this support for about a year… what is the issue? Plex has partnered with MusicBrainz now - at this point it should be a no-brainer – especially since your competition has it. This is now an issue of feature parity - not just a “wishlist” item.
I’m sad to see this was requested so long ago and still not implemented. Please add support for ListenBrainz scrobbling. ListenBrainz is a much better option now than last.fm. Literally the only thing last.fm has over ListenBrainz is user base size, but if Plex had built in support that would go a long way to helping ListenBrainz user base size.
Also since Plex now matches artists/albums/tracks to MusicBrainz, when implementing ListenBrainz support additional information could be submitted for more accurate data than last.fm supports through MBIDs.
That said, I hope that Plex could support both last.fm and ListenBrainz and allow submitting to both and not completely replace last.fm.
