Now Plex has just signed up on MetaBrainz's Unicorn support tier, what new features can we imagine?

I was really happy to saw this announcement, I use MusicBrainz Picard since a long time now and in IMO the MusicBrainz Database is one of the best to manage music collections (CD, vinyl, digital etc…).

We already now “Plex.tv will use the MusicBrainz data to match users’ personal music collections” (source) and that excellent news. But can we also imagine new feature like enabled LIsten into ListenBrainz? And many more?

yes!

listenbrainz scrobbling support would be awesome, as would using listenbrainz for recommendations/radios.

and acousticbrainz for music metadata

Yeah, if Plex uses MB database to manage music, we could imagine the MusicBrainz ID will be there and acoustic data could be submitted directly from Plex to AcousticBrainz.

It says this on the Supporters page:

Plex.tv will use the MusicBrainz data to match users’ personal music collections.

new musicbrainz support, along with loss of various tv/dvr guides, would seem to indicate to me that plex has/is/will be losing or discontinuing support for gracenote et al.

which is fine with me, because F gracenote.

Yes, that why I put the source link
