for the second part you should be able to check "unwatched only" when you set up the sync for a tv show which will delete watched episodes when it starts the next sync to get new ones

Yes, I have all my synced shows set up with the "Unwatched Only" option, however it doesn't delete the shows until I perform a sync. I would like to delete the shows from my ipad after I watch them for two reasons 1) to clean up my "On my iPad" view and 2) to make room on my ipad as soon as possible…
