I currently have media I watch, stuff for the wife and also media for the kid. Occasionally I’ll add or remove a series or two for either of us. Each TV show has a label for one of us, two of us or all three of us. When I want to see my media, I just filter by label and Bob’s your uncle. Problem comes when I want to sync my stuff. I am always on the move so I sync items to my phone pretty often. One of the main driving forces behind me going Plex Pass in the first place. The issue is I find the entire sync process too cumbersome and I haven’t seen much improvement to it in the last years. For instance, right now I might have some 30 shows on my server. Of these, about 18 are shows I follow. I don’t binge watch so I watch one episode of a show, then move to a episode of a different show and then off to the next and so one and so forth. This means I have to set up a sync item for each TV show in my list. If i filter by label and try to sync the label, if I decide to sync only 2 items (presumably per show), all that I’ll get are 2 items of the first show. If I try to sync 20 items, I’ll get something like the 9 remaining unwatched items of the first show and 11 of the next. Meaning I have to binge watch, unless I set up a sync for 2 items of each series, one after the next. Tiresome. And I have to do this whenever I add a series or show.
What I want is to be able to select the entire library or label or other filter, hit sync, tell it to sync 2 items and then check a box or something to tell the server it’s 2 items of each series in the library or label. This way I can always have 2 eps of the shows with me. Or 3 or 4 or 20 if I so desire. Not just 2 items of the first show in the library or label.
