Hi i have been a plex pass holder for several years now. I love plex and really want to see it succeed. I am a little worried about how this launch was handled. to launch with only a hand full of clients able to make use of the integration for lack of a better word to discribe the current state.
Like a lot of people in my lounge room i have a game console as my primary plex device this is were i watch and listen to everything. I rarely use a smart phone and i prefer the bigger screen. The web client on the PC is lacking some key functionality.
Feature Request
Xbox One & PS4 Tidal feature integration (Primarily)
Tidal to present as a music library rather then a different server
The ability to search for an artist/song/video and add from tidal straight from/through the Plex App client
A selection of Artist radio and a mix/genre/mood radio on the front page of the tidal library within the app
Bring the visualization feature/options from plexamp over to the main client and allow to search while the visualization is active for use with premium and tidal music libraries.
I am also not to happy with the pricing options there should have been an option to buy a 1 year tidal and plex pass for around $100 for the year. You want us to support you with this new venture give us an incentive rather then $1 dollar off. These features should not be to much to ask for especially we are now paying two subscription fees make it worth the money with good features and usability.
Seeing there has been no response with a timeline or even acknowledgement of the issues with lack of clients and how plex and tidal works together I have cancelled the tidal portion. It pains me to say this also I am considering cancelling my plex pass also and moving to emby. Some drastic changes need to come to be honest
I have just signed up to tidal and it’s working on all devices but my Xbox.
There is no server to pick from (although it should be integrated).
Plex and Plex staff have lost their way. Rather than making a comprehensive product, they are doing unrequested feature releases while leaving a significant amount of support issues untouched.
Like this question I have no doubt it will go unnoticed and unanswered from the Plex staff, but both tidal not working on an Xbox as it’s a primary device for a lot of families is a terrible case of misjudgment
Hi man thanks for the reply to my topic and yes it has still gone unnoticed by the plex team. I myself moved back to buying physical media and putting that into my own plex library. I also got an Amazon prime subscription for additional music and video content. $59 for the year much better then the 120 for tidal and 34 for the plex pass.
Xbox should be the only way I could play tidal music at my surround system. Seemed like a nice option because Plex was advertising with tidal integration. After I subscribe to tidal it was a huge disappointment to discover this is no option on Xbox.
I totally agree… I have been soo happy with Plex over the last years, but I feel every new update brings on new bugs. After discovering Tidal integration not working despite marketing it with Xbox one support I will move on from Plex… Such a shame.
