Feature Request - Various Artist in Plex Music handling

Hi All,

With the addition of the new Plex Music it made me curious on how it works so i started adding my music. Since i own a lot of “Various Artist” albums i was quite disappointed to see that Plex Music only arranges artists based on “Album Artists” instaid of also using the “Track artist”.

I would like to request the following feature for Plex music.

As a Plex User i want to select “Track Artist” as matching alternative to the current method of matching the “Album Artist” to the song>artist matching in the Plex library.

Thank you for your time.

Kind regards,

Hakulaku

What exactly do you mean by ‘matching’?

Currently Plex matches artists and their songs based on album artist. I’m
requesting the option added to have songs of an album with various artist
matched on track artist instead of album artist.

To give you an example, an album of “best dance hits in 2015” can include
songs of David Guetta, Avvici and Chuck Norris.

Avvici - The Nights
David Guetta - Shot You down
Chuck Norris - Is he an artist?

The current behavior of Plex will add the artist “Various Artists” and
match/add all these tracks to Various Artists as this wil be album artist.
In the end The Nights will not be added to the artist Avvici.

My requested behaviour would be adding/matching the tracks to the mentioned
track artist. Both fields are in plex and gathered through the agent, but
only album artist is used.

Kind regards,

Jan

I guess, you would be satisfied if this feature request would be implemented?
