Hi, it would be awesome if we could have a “watch together” function for Live TV & DVR.
A bit of backstory: My wife’s family have been watching Survivor together since season 01. Her sister recently moved to a basement apartment without cable, where an antenna also won’t work. I set up an account for her to be able to watch Live TV & DVR through my PMS. When it came to watching it, it was a bit clunky, as when one of us had to pause for a couple of minute, we’d get all out of sync, and then her playback started messing up. As the show was 3 hours long and ended at 11PM, it’s not like we were able to wait to watch it after it recorded (watching it live is important to their experience).
This would of course also be awesome during covid, or for families that grew up watching series together and now live apart. It would also be helpful for people who can’t get antennas because they may live on the wrong side of an apartment building that doesn’t point to a tower (a very real thing, as I lived just 10km from a broadcast tower, but couldn’t get any of the channels clearly), or for family members who live too far from these towers. I live in a big city where I get 40+ OTA channels on my antenna, but my family members only get a few where they live, and they’re often glitchy, so having this would make these family TV nights so good!
