[FEATURE SUGGESTION] Sorting Videos by Audio Format

I’m currently updating all my video files from audio formats like Stereo to E-AC3 as I added a soundbar and if that audio format is available I’m updating them to that. Right now I can’t sort (as far as I know) video/TV/whatever by audio format. We can sort by times played, resolution, date added, etc. I’d like to be able to sort by audio format (AAC, E-AC3, AC3, etc) so that I can make it easy to find which ones I still need to update. Right now I just have to click each one to find out what it is.

You might be better off using third party export features that tools like Tautulli (Exporter Guide) and WebTools-NG (ExportTools) offer, then loading the exported file into Excel to sort/filter/pivot by specific audio codecs. Not saying it wouldn’t be nice to have additional filters in Plex itself, but for the task you describe the export option is probably the quickest way forward. Or even tools completely outside of Plex that can break down a library by codec type.

In addition to drahn‘s feedback…
There’s already an existing suggestion discussing an option to filter libraries by the format/codec of their audio tracks. Please comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.
