Plex naming and organization requirements: Plex Documentation → Your Media
Hi,
thks for your answer.
I’m not english speaker and do not understand very well. (i think so)
i followed the instructions in the link you sent me, but the movies still named like the “official”, not using my file name.
Can you explain me what i have to do? i want plex to show me my movies with my file name, not the movie name.
p.e. [3D].Avatar.mkv it shows like Avatar (2009) i want to see in my movie list [3D].Avatar
thks in advance,
You can try using an Other Video
type library.
Movie libraries will always look for metadata (embedded metadata or online metadata).
Plex will not do that (edit: As mentioned by @tom80H you can use an Other Video library).
You can use the Edition tag to differentiate 3D from other versions.
For example:
Standard Plex Naming:
/movies/Avatar (2009)/Avatar (2009).mkv
Using Editions:
/movies/Avatar (2009) {edition-3D}/Avatar (2009) {edition-3D}.mkv
Plex will then list the movie separately.
The Edition tag is really meant for Theatrical/Director Cut/etc. However, you can also use it for 3D vs 2D, etc.
