I need guidance\support. My Windows C drive is showing it is running out of space. Given the space allocation, I questioned how could that even be possible. The culprit is:
C:\Users[username]\AppData\Local\Plex\Plex Media Server.\Synch.\2\6\Chicago Fire (2012)\Season x
I have Plex running on my NAS and those same files are in a Plex Media folder on the NAS. In the setup of Plex, I will admit many months ago I wanted to be able to view Plex content on my Windows but the actual Plex Server is on the NAS. I realized I did not need “Plex Media Server” on my Windows PC just to open the Browser and watch content on my Windows PC. I thought I had removed all content but clearly I did something to cause some folder for a specific show to exist. I checked the Windows Apps and it does not show any Plex Media Server.
I expect it may be related to the incident where I noted Chicago Fire was missing different episodes in various seasons. I noted the problem when using the Windows browser and I saw a download option. I clicked on that link thinking it would search for missing content (older season and missing episodes) and it did not find the missing episodes. I moved on thinking I will just have to get over the fact they are missing and watch what it recorded.
Now that I see the files saved on my Windows C drive and the same content on my NAS in the Plex Media server, it must have downloaded the content to my C drive.
The question is can I delete the content on C driver? What is the reference in the file structure with a folder called “Synch.” What is it synching? My concern before deleting is it synching with the NAS drive too? Should I just delete all folders under Plex in the structure above?
I need to recover almost 118GB of space on my Windows PC so those files have to go.
Thanks for any suggestions.
