Fingerprint Unlock

Would it be possible to get fingerprint login enabled on Plex instead of typing in a pin on the mobile apps? I would think it wouldn’t be too hard to hook into Google’s APIs… (Maybe) =)

WOW! Already three votes for biometric reader for android.
I mean, out of 6 hundred trillion different android phones like 4 or 5 have fingerprint readers.

@NewPlaza Are you being serious? Lol Many, many Android phones have fingerprint readers, and it should be immensely easy to enable it since Google does the heavy lifting… The same could be said for iOS…

Well, that’s nice to know. Why do you have a PIN on your Plex Mobile phone? I mean, can you not enable auto sign-in on the phone?

Yeah, so, maybe I need to test again, but I found that if I am logged in on multiple Android devices (mine, my wife, living room TV, etc.) with my Plex account, if I enable auto sign-in on my phone it acts that way on all the Android based devices. Maybe that was a bug? Biggest use case for me is I’d like my wife and I to use the main account and our TV be set up for guests to easily use. The problem is that I want our pictures uploaded to Plex, so I then have to enable the PIN… But, since the TV is based on android if I do the auto sign-in the pin becomes useless… :frowning:

I would love to see fingerprint enabled as an option. I have young kids and use the PIN option in parental control. On my mobile device it would be great if I could use my fingerprint instead of the PIN. I’m so used to using my fingerprint on other apps that I sometimes without thinking try the same with Plex. So please add this as a feature. I know the votes are low but I’m guessing it’s something that many Plex users would use.

+1, for the same reasons.
