FireTV 4K and new Player

Server Version#: 1.18.9.2578
Player Version#: Need to check, TV is not at my location. Sorry

Hi, I’m running the 4K FireTV Stick with the latest App from the Amazon Store.
Generally the new Player is much better, but it often got problems with Videos which where paused. If I click resume usually it fails and I need to switch to the old Player.
Is this known ? IO have not found anything re. this.
What do you need from me to troubleshoot it ?

Logs from the Plex app running on the Fire TV. https://support.plex.tv/articles/201573117-android-android-tv-fire-tv-logs/

See attached Log.

I’ve tried Simpsons which worked fine, then I tried Donots which also worked.
I then tried to start Dexter which did not even start from Minute 0

Hmm. According to your log there is something with the audio track that the player did not like. I’m going to need a sample of that file, https://support.plex.tv/articles/201035968-generating-sample-files-from-media/.

The File (first 60s, hope that’s enough) is uploaded here:

I’ve encoded the file my self using HandBrake. The Audio is untouched so I’m a bit surprised that there are errors with it. Thought it would rather be the video…

After the Encode with Handbrake I’ve simply put the file on my NAS. No further “polishing” with MKVToolNix, as I did years ago.

Did you test the sample through Plex to make sure you still get the same issue?

Just did, same issue, also if I put the whole file trough MKVToolNix, which in the past helped with weired playback issues on my WDTVLive (some time ago :D)

Did capture the logs again

@anon18523487 No further ideas ?

I really want to get this fixed

btw. Other players are fine thought.

Anything I can do here to get this fixed ?

Ah sorry. Missed the ping. I will grab that sample a little later and test. Thanks.

No worries, you will need a new Link, the old one is expired.

Let me know if you need anything else ?

I’ve re-uploaded the file

I got the file previously and have passed it on to the team. As mentioned, the file is encoded badly. They’ll see if it can be fixed, but it might not be possible.

Thanks for the update.

Still I’m a bit surprised, the file was encoded by me. The Video was compressed using Handbrake while the Audio was copied (also Handbrake) using Pass through.
From my understanding the Format should be as it is on the BD.

Is there anything I can do to help?

Maybe your original source was bad. We don’t need anything now.
