Do you have 2000, 5000, or even 10,000 pieces of media on your Plex server? How about even more? Planning on getting there? You better have a TV Guide!
Did you know you can recommend items to your family and friends on the same Plex server? You can pull out your phone, call up a queue item in the Plex app, long press the piece of media, and recommend it to the other users instantly via Plex Cloud services. It will appear in their client interface as a recommendation that they can play immediately. They can also recommend media back allowing for better discovery when media may become harder to find.
There is just one tiny problem with this recommendation revolution: You can’t add library items to any compatible queue such as Watch It Later. The system simply won’t allow it due to a design flaw.
I would like this fixed so we can explore recommendations!
Agreed. Its been bothering me forever. I have 6-7 friends that we all share a premium plex server and I would love to be able to recommend, rate, and share different videos to specific users registered inside our server. Also, be nice to be able to type them a short message or comment when I share it. Seems to me like this would be so easy to implement. More social and collaboration features/tools built into group of users on the same plex would be great. It would also be cool to be able to have multiple users sync and stream the same video simultaneously in different locations.(aka. like party chat on xbox where everyone can watch and laugh together even when they are in different places)
That one wouldn’t be quite as easy but to make it easier u can have it where u schedule a time for a stream of an optimized movie made available to all the users. Then they could just connect over Skype or whatever during the show. It would be fun.
There is an existing request for this. Rather than spreading votes across several threads, add your vote to that one by clicking ‘Like’ on the first message in the thread.
Ah, I didn’t realize it was that hopeless. Just delete the threads. If it hasn’t been implemented by now, there is zero reason to bother. They requested it December 2014.
