For organizing files, need some help!

I am trying to organize all my files to at least have proper year on the plex server. Are there any ways to do that? Like setting certain structure of the folders, etc.

Current File Structure

Root
-2020-Jan
- Collection 1
- Collection 2
- Collection 3
-2019-Jan
- Collection 4
- Collection 5
- Collection 6

Trying to achieve
Collection 1,2,3 will show like 3 different tv shows with many eps with year of 2020, and 456 with year of 2019. Is this possible?

Is this about actual tv-shows / movies or some other videos (e.g. home videos)?

There’s an official naming schema describing how to structure/name your videos for Plex to recognize them and add the correct metadata (descriptions, artwork…).

For other videos you could get Plex to show some metadata that is embedded in your files (e.g. for mp4/m4v videos). Plex has no way to group those videos based on what folders they’re in.

The videos I am trying to organize are anime videos. I tried to categorize the folder as tv shows, but none of my videos shows in the library…
