Force DVR to record even if episode number already exists

Is there a way to force Plex to record an episode number that already exists in the library if it has a different episode name?

No, this currently cannot be done. There’s a feature request for such functionality, but it doesn’t seem to be very popular:

By default Plex won’t record episodes that’s already in the library if there’s no jump in quality (like SD to HD). In cases where there’s conflicting information from the EPG and TheTVDB, or when the EPG is wrong about the episode numbering, this leads to episodes not being recorded because Plex thinks it’s already in the library. They won’t even show in the schedule. Recordings are being skipped and lost due to this. In addition, episodes that are already recorded will in some circumstances …
