I have a Chromecast 3rd Gen, that can only supports playing H264 videos (see the docs). When I try to stream H265/HEVC videos to it, the player nautrally tries to transcode, but it’s too slow for the playback to actually work..
On the other hand, if I do Optimised Versions, so far no matter what option I tried (Optimised for TV, custom one with Universal TV, etc…), the result seems to be that Plex Server just copies the H265/HEVC stream into it, rather than transcode.
Is there any setting that would force an H264 conversion? It would be useful if I didn’t have to do this common, simple conversion with 3rd party tools.
