I noticed last week that the format has changed on my Amazon Fire TV but still same on my Roku 3 and Apple TV player.
Didn’t notice any mention anywhere about this change though…
What, exactly, is the change you are seeing? My Fire shows that the app updated Dec. 10 and it still looks like the same crappy interface that virtually everything else has been shoe horned into.
It still has the useless “hubs” and requires multiple clicks to get into any useful browsing and it still has the useless “Post Play” screen shoved down our throats with no choice just to return to where the played video was launched without an additional keypress.
To be clear I see zero difference or improvement.
Is yours the fire box or stick?

Same here, same crap, different day, but what I want to know is how are you getting an automatic update? I’ve had my AFTV for a few years now and not once in all that time has this unit got a Plex app update without me having to un-install/re-install. What magic button or process am I missing?
No magic button, just happened one day last week when u switched it on.
Still same usual format on my other units including the LG TV I have, only on the Amazon Fire TV which is the newest version I have though…
This is what I get on my fire tv
Just noticed something, isn’t plex that’s changed, it’s the Fire tv format that’s changed! Must be an age thing with me these days lol
That age thing is running deeper than you think, because that’s not the AFTV interface, it’s your TV’s Amazon Interface.
If you want to see the AFTV you have to switch the TV’s HDMI inputs to the one the AFTV is plugged into. That will show you the actual AFTV Interface.
This is the AFTV front end:
and here is a horrific picture of that equally horrific Plex front end - that hasn’t changed one iota since the day they rammed this awful thing down our throats:
Disclaimer: I suppose it is possible, if you have an AFTV2 things may look differently, but I doubt it… app parity and all. I have a couple of AFTV1 units and that’s all I have to go on.
I have poured over my AFTV exploring every setting I can find and nowhere can I find an option - I haven’t tried already - that would facilitate an automatically acquired Plex app update.
I know, either age or tired thing was going on lol
I jump between Roku 3 and Amazon plus a few others when I watch Plex.
as you say, nothing has changed since day one on the format as such…
