I came to post DVR problems, but am not recognized as logged in when using the forums with my Plex account. Instead, a message says “hi stranger” with login buttons, along with my id seeming to indicate I am already logged in (see image). The link and buttons do not log me in. Logging out from the main Plex page and back in makes no difference.
I created this tmp account to post this.
It might not be related, but occasionally when trying to view a forum page, the browser loops through three different URLs until manually stopped.
Is it possible, that your Plex credentials got into the wrong hands?

You are using FreeBSD - you either
may want to update to Plex server 1.7.5 as soon as possible
or
check your advanced server configuration for the preference disableRemotesecurity. If you find it, remove it.

That key exists, but is set to false: disableRemoteSecurity=“0”
I didn’t upgrade to the latest since the release notes only list an Ubuntu packaging change. Will update anyway…
I’m guessing the lock occurred after the 2015 breach. If I recall correctly, I’ve been with Plex since 2008 and had this PlexPass account since around 2010. I’ve changed Plex servers a few times and moved to a clean install on FreeNAS last year. I haven’t had a need to post in the forums since this account issue occurred, so haven’t worried much about it.
I can log in to the forums now and post (obviously). Thank you for your help!
