Forum Whacked Out - Can't edit.

About 5 hours ago it became impossible to edit a forum post.

That pretty much says it all.

Or perhaps it’s a forum post with a quote in it - let’s see.

Yea, that’s it. It’s all a bit mysterious, but something has happened and it’s not that good. One can edit a post with a quote in it, but unless you reload the thread it appears to have added a new post instead of just editing the original post. It’s whacky, man.

Sorry about this Juice, Vanilla has some issues and it has been reported. It seems hard to get someone to fix it though due to the holidays and all so I can’t say much more than we’re hoping this will be fixed ASAP.

I can edit any post, but it does appear as a new post until I refresh the page. Weird. This and the inability for some users to post attachments are making the forum a pain in the butt lately.

Edited.

Edited again, to add this:. Using my phone’s browser and loading the forum in desktop mode (selected from the forum options) = no problems with editing.

It’s cool. Like @kegobeer-plex I figured out how to deal with it, but there for a while it had me stumped.

I’ve discovered that if you save your post as a draft first, it will then let you save it as a post. This seems to work with attachments, quotes, inline images (the 3 scenarios where it wouldn’t let me save as a post directly).

Some of us have been experiencing issues with the forums for some time now. i.e. button bar issues.
Yes, I did have issue with editing posts today.

As one that edits a post as much as I do I can offer this anecdotal piece of information:
Post
Edit Post
Reload Page
has now been burned into the muscle memory and will forever more be automatic. Like:
Brush Tooth
Spit.
You just don’t have to think about stuff like that any more.

If all things Plex were so easily worked around the Plexiverse would be a happier place.

Problem resolved. It started working again sometime yesterday.
