Hi,
When will PLEX provide FQDN feature on Manual Server settings of Mobile and TVs APPs ?
It really boring has to update the IP address every time the ISP change it.
My Brother lives on another city and for better PLEX experience, he has to set the Manual Server IP on TV and Mobile Apps, so, the FQDN will improve plex user`s life!!
Jellyfin, a free media server, already use of FQDN for “Manual Server Settings”, so, already passed the time for PLEX developers add this feature too!!

“Custom server access URLs”
Hi OttoKerner,
Thanks for your reply. I already use “Custom Server access URLs”, but it works for access via browser (usually via workstations) only.
To customize PLEX APP on Smart-TVs or on Mobiles and Tablets, the field “Advanced / Manual Server Settings” permit IP address only, URL is not allowed.
No, it works for every type of Plex client.
Every Plex client which is signed into your plex.tv user account (or into a plex user account to which you have granted access to your media) will contact plex.tv and will be given this address automatically.
The “manual server” setting in some Plex client types is for situations when you don’t have access to plex.tv.
I used a long time ago, but the experience watching movies was terrible, it was impossible watch in 1080p, everytime freezing and loading.
But i am going to test it one more time, i hope for a better experience now.
Thanks again OttoKerner!!!
One has nothing to do with the other.
