Live TV channels show up and play in preview mode for 1 sec. If I click on the channel it acts like it’s about to load but then goes back to the previous screen. If I long press on a channel then click watch episode and then press play, it will play properly. So why do I have to go through all the extra motions to get it to work instead of just with one click?
I have tried various different APK packages from different dates and different versions, but currently using the version from the Play Store. Uninstalled reinstalled numerous times from multiple sources.
I forgot to mention that if I use the Roku Plex app, live TV works perfectly. So I don’t know if it’s my particular ONN Chromecast with Google TV or whether it’s the app for that particular device. I venture to say it’s the app because everything else on the Chromecast with Google TV works perfectly fine.
I have been able to confirm that it is the Plex app for Google TV. Works fine on everything else. And unfortunately there’s no way to actually contact anyone in support and the only thing you can do is leave feedback in the Play Store. So until they decide to fix the Google TV app, live TV does not work as expected. I’m really surprised nobody else has this problem. But it doesn’t work on a Google Chromecast with Google TV. 4K or an ONN Google TV 4K.
