FreeNAS No soup for you

I set up another instance of Plex in a jail and noticed that this is exactly the contents of Preferences.xml prior to the initial Plex setup. On clicking Management on first install of the plugin, you should see the Plex login screen…

… and then the initial Plex setup wizard.

After completing the wizard, Preferences.xml is populated.

Yeah that’s my issue. I can’t complete the initial Plex server setup. I immediately get the “no soup for you” when I select management and log in with my Plex credentials.

I will get you that screen shot later today.

…and supply a screenshot of your current Plex jail’s basic properties (Jails > Edit > Basic Properties).

Also, what is the value of vnet_default_interface in the jail’s Network Properties?

You really needed to have got this working with DHCP first, before configuring it to use a fixed address. Had you done so, the correct flags would have been set and a virtual network stack configured correctly. Apart from this, a default router for the jail is missing from your configuration. I’m not surprised there’s ‘No soup for you’. Also, make sure the IPv4 interface is vnet0.

After manually configuring the jail, test the Plex plugin. It should now work. If you’re still having problems, I strongly recommend that you delete and reinstall the plugin and get it working using DHCP for the jail first. This will ensure that all jail settings have been configured correctly for Plex. Once you have it working, then reconfigure the jail with a static IP.

If you are experiencing problems configuring DHCP for the jail, this post may help.

Have you solved it??? I’m facing exactly the same issue for a while already… I can’t find a solution to this issue anywhere…

I really can’t understand how to solve it… I installed the jail many times and everytime it sends me to the “no soup for you page” during the server setup

Thank you.

Almost certainly a networking issue as for the OP. What version of FreeNAS? Are you using the Plex plugin or installing Plex directly in an iocage jail?

Let’s start by having a look at your FreeNAS network settings and Plex jail network settings.
