Friendly Name for Server

I have a two parter.

  1. Are there any consequences for changing your server’s friendly name? Some quick research points to “no”, but I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t lose watch history or have to re-invite people.

  2. I assume this one is a “yes”, but will users who have access to my server need to log out and log back in to see the name change?

  2. maybe, if you want it to be visible immediately. But if not the change will eventually arrive anyway. Though it may take a few days in some cases, if the client apps are always suspended instead of restarted.
