Never gonna happen.
They have some of it nailed down. On tvOS it does show personal assigned ratings and they will show ratings consistently and matching trakt perfectly.
The issue is the mobile clients (iOS or Android mobile) are the only clients that allow a half-star rating.
Rate anything in anything other than the mobile apps (like the web app) it will push a 4* rating as a 7 8 or 9 inconsistently. Why the discrepancies? The weather in your city or what your neighbour had for tea yesterday or some other bizarre reason.
TL;DR Plex and trakt can never align for ratings at least. Because Plex cannot even align within its own various clients.
If Trakt Ratings or Popular/Trending/Lists are your be-all and end then you may as well uninstall Plex now and switch to far less pretty options like Emby or Jellfyin. Itās scary that half a dozen devs between those two options have heard of trakt⦠Plex never will acknowledge its existence
I meant view the Trakt āscoreā for shows / episodes. I find that Trakt has a much more reliable score and it would be more consistent, currently I have a lot of episodes that jump between TMDB and TVDB, itās quite annoying tbh.
I also never said it was my be all end all, Iām just saying Iād like to see this implemented.
Yep sorry for seemingly implying that to you personally.
That comment was meant as a general thing for anyone who wants any kind of working Trakt with their media server.
Although the webhooks option with Plex and Trakt work well enough, having full integration into Plex would be a simpler option. One thing that I really miss from the old plugin was the popup at the end of a movie (or tv show if you turned that option on) to rate it and your rating would get saved in Trakt. Instead of having to log in to Trakt and manually rate everything you watched.
I long since voted for this.
However I did notice earlier on the latest Android TV release there is a new option to rate media.
Iām hoping that will be a thing in all clients in the future.
Full integration would be better though. But at over 10 years itās probably never gonna happen.
The people in charge at Plex are very igonrant towards their users / customers.
Months ago I asked here in the community why the apps on Apple devices donāt show genre information for TV shows. I never received an answer to that question.
