FYI-Plex and Terra-Master Installing unauthorized Beta version during OS upgrade

Server Version#:1.43.0.10389
Player Version#:

I upgraded my TM F4-424 PRO from TOS 5.1.145 to TOS 6.0.794. Through no actions on my own, Plex was changed from the last official release(1.42.2.10156) to a BETA VERSION(1.43.0.10389).

As a result Plex won’t enable and even a note to upgrade to a more recent version(?). I fear I may lose dozens of playlists and collections I’ve created if I have to reinstall.

I’m waiting for a response from Terra-Master.

Can you reach server settings?

If so, go to settings > server_name > general.

Is the server claimed?

If not, try to claim it.

Thanks for responding.

The Plex app won’t even enable to allow me to launch it.

Short answer - can’t reach server settings.

You should be able to reinstall without issue. Typically on NAS platforms there will be a prompt to delete settings and/or appdata or not when uninstalling apps. If Terramaster’s installer does not let you install an older version then you’ll need to uninstall the current 1.43.0 then install the production 1.42.2.

Terramaster does allow for installing a lower version. However, if you choose to uninstall the app first you will see a big scary warning about deleting configuration files. Just do not choose to delete these configuration files.

Thanks for responding. Unfortunately I did delte the config files, but not beforeI backed up the Plug in Support folder as instructed by TM.

For the moment let’s I’m ok with losing dozens of playlists and collections which represent tens of hours of work, I have tried to reinstall v1.42 and I confirm user permissions and reset shared folder permissions. and all I get is the Plex splash screen.

Any insight?
