Why doesn’t plex enable an option to just constantly download? I feel like that would give an option around a lot of the issues you see on the forums! Just pause video for a bit and let plex get ahead.
That would require the client device to have enough memory where it can store the pre-buffered video data. Most hardware players are rather restricted in that aspect.
I know you can enlarge the buffer up to 500 MB in Plex Media Player.
But doing that is not recommended at all. It will cause a giant delay from pressing play to the video actually starting.
It could be the QoS altering the pipe that is available to Plex. My suggestion is to turn off QoS and see what happens. If it cures the problem then you can work from there if it does not cure the problem then it is a good bet that it is not QoS causing the problem.
It doesn’t. It uses almost none.
As @pl_5309 said - your gaming packets are time sensitive, MUST HAVE, and as such are given tip-top priority over a lowly video stream.
If you can turn off whatever it is that’s in control of that… things could go South, or they could get better. Buckle up and Flip the switch.
