Here I installed today the 1.0.0.2261 version of Windows Server Plex. But I was shocked to see me there’s a word offset and music playback on my XBOX 360 AVI files.
I had already noticed this inconvenience and 0.9.17.3 with the 1.0.0.2261 version, but I had hoped that this bug is corrected in the new version. But apparently not …
I have found a wobbly solution to overcome the problem through an optimized version. But it hardly pleases me and if the problem persists I’ll end up just return to the 0.9.16.6 release.
Do I am the only one with this problem? Is the Plex Technical Support team know?
I realized some additional tests. I discovered that the problem is not AVI files but the audio encoded in MP3. Thus the client on the XBOX 360 (and only on XBOX 360) when I read files (AVI or MKV) containing an encoded audio track to MP3, there is an enormous gap between sound and image.
I think it is an optimization performed on the server that has not yet taken into account by the client XBOX 360. I just hope the problem has been raised to the team and a setting client update XBOX 360 is expected soon.
Meanwhile, either I encode my files again to switch the MP3 audio tracks in AAC (for example), or I use PLEX to create optimized versions, or I use the server version 0.9.16.6.
