Gapless playback for Plex Media Player on Mac (macOS)

In issue [Implemented] Gapless Playback it had been suggested by the Plex team to create a new issue for specific players that still experience issues with gapless playback.

The Plex Media Player for macOS is one of such players that would greatly benefit from having gapless playback for audio files.

Please upvote this feature request to bring it to the devs’ attention.

At the very least an acknowledgement (or rejection) from Plex devs about this ‘feature’ would be highly appreciated.

Yeah, this is an app killer for me.

Seriously shocked that despite the quality of the app and the ease of setup, there’s no gapless playback - it’s ridiculous.

I initially thought there was a problem with my system or something - I can’t recall not having gapless playback on anything for decades now.

I’ll have to look elsewhere to stream my own music, because not having gapless playback on many albums just totally ruins the mood AND the music.

Plex developers are amateurs at best.

They clearly don’t have a clear roadmap or someone defining consistent feature rollout across platforms.

They’re really happy to take your money for that Plex pass though.

If I rolled out software they way they do I’d probably have t close shop. This is a joke.

Have you tried Plex for Mac? I don’t know if Gapless Playback is implemented in it or not but Plex Media Player hasn’t been updated in almost a year. I believe Plex Media Player for Mac/Windows was EOL’d in mid-2019 in favor of Plex for Mac/Windows and later Plex HTPC.

Plex HTPC:

Plex for Mac/Windows:

Hope this helps.

Plex for Mac, #### Version 1.30.1.2115-81e1fc3f

Still has no gapless playback. ( the one I use )

Plex HTPC fullscreen would be great if my mac was connected to a 65" TV.
It is not my current use case. I work while listening to music.
