General PlexPy Error

First off, programming is not my thing at all. So, I just moved over from PlexWatch a few days ago and I have just a couple quick questions (I’ve tried looking through other posts but there are soooo many)

  1. I keep getting “CP server thread-3 : Error parsing XML for Plex sync lists” and “CP server thread 9- : Unable to retrieve sync data for the user” Basically I’m and getting no stats at all. Is there a common fix for this? It worked in PlexWatch for me
  2. I like to get email notifications of what is being watched. I had it set up in PlexWatch and it worked. I THINK I have it set up correctly in PlexPy but I’m not sure because I have not gotten any email notifications even though family has been using Plex. Any suggestions?

Any help would be AMAZING!

The “Unable to retrieve sync data for the user” error is normal and will show when you try to access synced items for a user that doesn’t have any synced items. The other error shouldn’t be showing but I’m not sure as it might show if there is nothing synced at all. Do you have any synced items?

These errors are unrelated to history keeping which should work out of the box. Have you made sure that “Log Movies and TV” is enabled in Settings → Monitoring? Also check your PlexPy log, it will show some info every time a stream stops.

It’s wise to check your PlexPy logs when you’re expecting a notification to fire off, everything is logged there.

No, there are no synced items showing, and to be honest I’ am not even sure what “synced items” means. I do have what was being watched under the “History” tab if that makes a difference.

My logs keep showing the same two errors mentioned previously. I do have the “Log Movies and TV” box checked. There is also nothing in my logs about any notifications being sent out.

Is there a “How To” giud that goes over all of the options in the settings or perhaps a video that shows what everything means? Again, I don’t mean to sound ignorant but programming is mostly beyond me. I’m a hardware guy. I tool a javascript class once and I almost killed someone :slight_smile:
