I’m working on defining exactly what Plex method is going to work for what I want to do:
I have “tags” in the filenames of videos, so that these tags work no matter what client we’re using, or how we’re accessing.
Tags for quality: “720p”, “Universal”, “x.264”, etc
Tags for language: “dub”, “sub”, “multi”, etc
And, most pressingly, tags for parental rating: “PG-13 for violence”, “PG-13 for violence and adult situations”, etc
I’ve been considering using a separator, so that it would be something like: “3 Idiots (2009) [PG-13 for bringing up the issue of suicide, Hindi, English Sub].avi” (with everything in the separator being ignored when matching the movie)
So, in order to keep it as simple as possible for now, having these tags added to the beginning of the description would be a good fit.
Is that better done through a Custom scanner? or a custom metadata agent?
