I have chosen Swedish as the language in my music library. I know all the metadata is usually in English, so I just picked Swedish anyway thinking that might change in the future.
Weird part is, now all of a sudden I’m getting a lot of German albums reviews. Not artist bios (they are in English) but only some album reviews.
Examples:
If no English review exist, I would expect this to be simply empty, no?
I’m, told there is currently no localization of music metadata possible.
So English it is by default.
And other languages if there is nothing in English available. Considering that these are all German bands, there might simply be no album reviews in English available.
Yes, that is exactly the problem. Shouldn’t there be no review at all then? Instead of one I can not read?
Like with movies - I have put Swedish there as the language and if it does not exist, it fetches the English or nothing.
That’s what “no localization” means. It simply can’t disambiguate.
Okay but, I don’t think this used to be the case. There used to be that all reviews came from Allmusic only. Which is English only. Resulting in English or nothing, which would be fine. No localisation but it’s still English.
So, Plex must have added other sources to get reviews from now, but frankly, if it can’t know the language of them, and they are sometimes not in English, they should probably not be used?
