Getting TIVO recordings on Plex server

I have a tivo OTA and I want to know how if its possible to get the records from my TIVO to automatically be added to my PLEX library after the recording is completed.
Please help me.

Thank you,
Gilbert

It’s not possible.

You should be able to use pyTiVo to extract the episodes from the TiVo box and have them placed in a folder that Plex scans.

Ah yes he could do that but I assume he went a Plex supported native way to take advantage of it and that’s not possible.

Here is my current set up.
I have my plex server and data stored and running on a wd my cloud ex2100, which is working great. Then I have the Tivo OTA in the living room recording shows.
Whats the best way to accomplish having files from my tivo added to plex?

Thanks,
Gilbert

There’s a utility called kmttg that can be configured to automatically scan Tivos on the network, and copy specified shows to a folder which can be scanned by Plex. It will also cut commercials and covert the files to one of many different formats.

kmttg is a very cool tool but, it sometimes misses commercials, I accidentally let my Romeo go over 200 recordings and kmttg crashes.

For me, the best way to go is to simply use the Tivo Desktop to download files, use VideoRedo(Like a 100 dollars I think) to edit commercials and remove Tivo Wrapper from the file, then use cc extractor to extract subtitles.

its a lot of work per file but it comes out perfect every time!
