Gig speed VPN and Plex

I currently have good internet speeds by my ISP (450 down/30 up) but when I turn on my VPN (Windscribe), it goes to 120/12. So far, Windscribe is the only VPN I have heard of that works with Plex to allow external connections.

My ISP is offering Gig speed internet but unless I can find a VPN that works with Plex that also allows something even close to Gig speed, their no need to do so.

Does anyone know of a VPN that both has the speed and works with Plex and port forwarding and external access?

Before you upgrade to Gig speed you may want to understand that VPN speed of a single stream is limited to CPU core speed.

An edge device that uses AES-NI would give you the best performance for least cost.

Thanks for the info. I have no idea what an edge device is or one that uses AES-NI. Can you link to some examples? It sounds like you are saying to get a physical “thing” that sits between your modem/router and PC and it handles the encryption.
That sounds good, if I am right. Does it work with Plex and port forwarding? Sorry if these are dumb questions.
