Google can add a plex service to Google Home

Uh, yeah they do. Consumers buy stuff they don’t need all the time and often it never does what’s it’s supposed to do. We have Consumer Reports and BBB invented for nonsense like this. However, in the tech world, this has always been a thing. The issue is that no one ever held Google accountable for their own products and services… and the list of dead :skull_and_crossbones: services and product lines keeps on growing much larger than Plex has on their boards.

By the time Plex does anything to get Plex integrated with Google assistant, that will be the time Google freaking decides to end the API and shut down those services for Plex to connect to. It’s bound to happen given Googles horrible track record.

Sorry, I should’ve said don’t continue to purchase things that don’t work as they should. Sadly, the reverse is also true, sometimes they don’t buy things that are better than competing products.

I doubt this. Open systems (Dos in the day, Android today) tend to outsell closed systems (Finder in the day, iOS today). Anything restrictive is by definition reductive.

Just Bump and a +1 to ensure the topic stays front of mind— Google home intergration – Sought after feature.

Another bump and +1. Please consider adding this soon. I’ve been looking for a solution that does this for my personal music collection since the demise of Google Music (RIP)

+1, please figure out a way to add.

+1 for me as well. It’s the one thing holding me back from investing in a lifetime pass. Just querying whether it may be possible to just get locally hosted music working with Google Assistant as a start point? (I’m not sure whether the issue is with external streaming or everything).
