Everyone says newest update ruined GPU transcoding. I do see my CPU being used a lot more and my P2000 barely doing anything. Any idea when this is going to be fixed? I want to run newest version because of TVDB issue but sucks having GPU transcoding messed up…
I am on the latest version, I am using Hardware Transcoding with my GTX 1070Ti, I’ve noticed no difference, everything is operating as it should
Yes, but the only difference between a P2000 and a 1070Ti when it comes to hardware transcoding is basically a software limitation. The 1070Ti is overall a better card.
You can unlock the 2 stream software limitation by following this guide. https://github.com/keylase/nvidia-patch/blob/master/win/README.md
I have been all the way up to 14 transcodes in a test without any issues.
P2000 can do 26 1080p Transcodes
Bump this
Technically, it’s Unlimited… I only pushed my 1070Ti to 14 for testing purposes, on paper, it should be able to do more than a P2000 as it’s unlocked, is a newer, better chip, with more cuda cores, more ram, higher benchmarks, etc.
At twice the cost I hope it’s got better specs
I think my overall point, if I wasn’t clear, was you don’t need a Quadro… You can get an equivalent GTX card for cheaper and just unlock it. The P2000 is a 1060… You can pick up a 1060 which has 6GB Of VRAM instead of 5GB for less than $300… So why spend $400 on the quadro? Equivalent Quadro cards are $$$ compared to the GTX Counterparts, and if all that’s standing in the way is a software unlock, just unlock it and move on…
You are right, you weren’t being overall clear because your main point besides saying how it was working for you was that your card of twice the cost is overall better than a P2000. Thanks for clarifying!
