Group albums by type

While I applaud the addition of the ability to group albums, there are several problems with the current implementation.

First of all, only the Albums group is sent to PlexConnect, so that client seems simply unable to access albums in any other sub-group.

Then, the control is too broad. Currently it is on or off, for the whole PMS, when in fact it should really be more configurable. E.g. several Beatles albums (e.g. Help!) are grouped into Soundtracks, when that is somewhat irrelevant. It is not really a soundtrack album. It just happens they made a film of it, but with this Grouping enabled, it is separated out, away from the other main albums and it shouldn’t be. The Live sub-group is ok and others, but having the Soundtrack group messes it all up - for this artist. Probably fine for some others and this is the point. It really needs to be ‘adjustable’ for individual artists. So the global setting can be disabled for individual artists.

Even better, there should be a way to specify which sub-groups to use. So e.g. this feature could be enabled globally, but for e.g. the Beatles, the Soundtrack sub-group could be disabled. Or even be able to specify this by Album.

I understand that the MusicBrainz grouping can be edited, but in this case, it’s not actually wrong. It is just important that it is not used for this artist, or as I said individual Albums could be excluded.

All of which presupposes there is no way to do this currently. Or is there? I’ve not found any way to ‘adjust’ this at the Artist or Album level, but is this possible? Planned? Anyone know?
