Group Multiple Plex Servers

It seems like this would be feasible as long as the client app is aware of the multiple servers, and can make the same “latest” or “search” query to multiple servers at the same time. A little UI magic, and the client has done the heavy lifting.

The challenge with this design is that the clients need to do the heavy lifting – so other options could be using server-to-server messages to facilitate the exchange of information. This may be a good use case for a cluster database, and the various shards

This is a pretty useful feature, hopefully plex will get a chance to implement it.

+1 of course, surprised this suggestion doesn’t get more vote, seems so useful…

With Plex media player you have to select which server you want to view content from. It is very annoying with multiple servers to switch between to check if new content is available or to remember which server has which content. You can search for content if you know the name but that often takes longer than browsing to a known location.
I think it would be much better if there were an option to view all content in one view and not care which server the content comes from.

Yes please!! It’s easy for me to remember on which server which content is - but it’s very hard for my wife or the kids.

We appear to have multiple requests for the same feature - Please could you add your notes to this Feature Request topic (Group Multiple Plex Servers) which has the highest number of Likes - the other duplicate requests will be closed. Please also ensure you click on Like on the first post

This would allow us to go to one main Library and view all combined movies from all your friends. I hate having to switch servers it would be great if we had one main Library. And for titles that are duplicated Plex can automatically choose the best quality version and display that one movie only. This can apply to channels, & TV shows as well.

Man I know this is a super old post…but I would really love this. My brother and I have servers in two different locations on the same account and we have a bunch of duplicates, but the ones I download are in higher quality…it would be cool if we can just select the video stream we want from one spot.

I’m sure they don’t know how to do it… otherwise, a state of the art media service like this would have such a basic feature. Like on Netflix, you brose through multiple of their servers, you just don’t see that it’s connecting to Server 1 or Server 2 when displaying a show…

Why should it be any different with Plex ?

Also, why isn’t there the possibility to merge Playlists among servers, list all at once in one playlist and be done with browsing…
