Wall Street - Gordon Gekko

"Dear Lord, please don't let me ■■■■ up."

That´s from The Treasure of the Sierra Madre ....an amazing classic with Humprey Bogart

Now this: " Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!"

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!"

That's from Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove, Or, How I Stopped Worrying And Love The Bomb, in the war room scene and Peter Sellers's character in a wheelchair yells this, I think because they were fighting over who gets to ensure the continued existence of humankind with only one woman left, or something like that. Great black and white sarcastic comedy.

A: *You want answers?*
B: *I want the truth!*
A: *You can't handle the truth!*

A few Good Men as Jack is getting grilled by Tom and cracks under the questioning.....

Uhh.

"What we've got here is failure to communicate"

Uhh.

"What we've got here is failure to communicate"

I know it's Cool Hand Luke, even though I have never seen it.

When you get those rare moments of clarity, those flashes when the universe makes sense, you try desperately to hold on to them. They are the life boats for the darker times, when the vastness of it all, the incomprehensible nature of life is completely illusive. So the question becomes, or should have been all a long… What would you do if you knew you only had one day, or one week, or one month to live. What life boat would you grab on to? What secret would you tell? What band would you see? What person would you declare your love to? What wish would you fulfil? What exotic locale would you fly to for coffee? What book would you write?

I know it's Cool Hand Luke, even though I have never seen it.

Last one is from One Week (2008), the narrator says this in the school scene I think.

Oh jeez, Fargo - yah?

“Face it, girls, I’m older and I have more insurance.”

From Fried Green Tomatoes (1991)... although I'm pretty sure that's not how insurance actually works...

As a fun intermission until the next movie quote, here's a brilliant commercial that pulls off six culture references in one fluid take...

Who can name all six references?

Rodin

Gump

???

Michelangelo

Reservoir Dogs

Daft Punk

Good job! The third reference is Mad Men.

"I'm not even supposed to be here!"

"I'm not even supposed to be here!"

That's from Clerks (1994). :)  It's a recurring line in the movie:

Next, a more difficult quote from a somber, realistic movie:

If there is a war on drugs, then many of our family members are the enemy. And I don't know how you wage war on your own family.
